“For once touched by love, everyone becomes a poet.”

–THE SYMPOSIUM (385–370 BC) by Plato

“The good, of course, is always beautiful, and the beautiful never lacks proportion.” -- Plato

It has been said that, after the Bible, Plato’s dialogues are the most influential books in Western culture. Of the dialogues, the Symposium is the most delightful and accessible, requiring no special knowledge of ancient Greek philosophy or customs. Dramatizing a party in fifth-century B.C. Athens, the deceptively unassuming Symposium introduces—in the guise of convivial after-dinner conversation—profound ideas about the nature of love. In Phaedrus, here published together with the Symposium, Plato discusses the place of eloquence in expounding truth. In both dialogues, Socrates plays the leading role, by turns teasing, arguing, analyzing, joking, inspiring, and cajoling his followers into understanding ideas that have remained central to Western thought through the centuries. How can you prove whether at this moment we are sleeping, and all our thoughts are a dream; or whether we are awake, and talking to one another in the waking state? – Plato

“I’m a Platonist – a follower of Plato – who believes that one didn’t invent these sorts of things, that one discovers them. In a sense, all these mathematical facts are right there waiting to be discovered.” — H.S.M. Coxeter

Some of the most foundational geometries in the universe are the Platonic solids which were first described in modern times by Plato. By placing 2 concentric circles in a hexagonal pattern around one central circle, you form what is known as the “fruit of life” pattern. If you connect the centers of all those circles with straight lines it forms “Metatron’s Cube” from which all the platonic solids arise. By understanding the fundamental patters that the universe uses to create itself we can better understand everything…

Plato’s Cave is an allegory, written by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato.... The world we are living in with all of its beauty may not appear to us to be similar to life in a cave. However, if we would see a glimpse of an alternate reality, such as the reality of living in Heaven on Earth, we may change our minds.... However consider the possibility that the difference is even greater between living in the world as we know it and living in a world that is like Heaven.

Have you seen outside of our “cave”? If so please comment!

Some of us have been given the gift of a glimpse of life outside the shadows we are accustomed to living. We’ve climbed up the mountain that our cave is sitting on and looked over the horizon… What is Coming is Outstanding!

I invite you to come and share this vision… and exclaim:

“Look at how magnificent it is outside of our cave! Let’s go there!”

…And the great part is that all we have to do is ask for it!
